BINENSTOCK. Mrs. Rita Shor Binenstock died March 12, 2010 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was 69.

Born in Manhattan, Mrs. Binenstock graduated from Brooklyn College. She taught elementary school in both Brooklyn and Cranford. After marriage she lived in Springfield and devoted her life to her husband, children, and grandchildren before moving to Monroe 10 years ago. She was a member of Deborah, ORT, the Arnold Shor Chapter of The Red Magen David of Israel, Temple Beth Ahm, and the Jewish Congregation of Concordia.

Mrs. Binenstock is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Harold; daughter, Wendy Braunstein of Basking Ridge; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and his Leslie, of Bridgewater; and grandchildren, Alexander Braunstein, and Jared and Jamie Binenstock. Interment at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin. Arrangements by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Memorial donations may be made to the Susan G. KATZ. Mrs. Eleanor Katz died March 10, 2010 at home. She was 79.

Born in Newark, Eleanor moved to Union after she married her beloved husband, Samuel. They settled in Brick in 1993. She was a bookkeeper for Brounell Kramer Wardor Agency in Union, and retired in 1991. She enjoyed crafts and painting, and loved going to flea markets. She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel. She left many friends. Interment at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. Arrangements by Belkoff-Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Lakewood. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C.

KLEINER. Mr. Randy Bruce Kleiner died March 11, 2010. He was 43.

Born in Bayonne, Mr. Kleiner lived in Easton, Pa., before moving to Elizabeth in 1971. He earned a B.A. at Kean University and was a member of the Marine Corps Reserve. He was an iron worker with the Iron Workers of Northern New Jersey Local 373 in Kenilworth.

Mr. Kleiner is survived by his parents, Lois (nee Burns) and Fred; children, David and Emily; brothers and sisters-in-law, Scott and Katie, and Ira and Lisa; nephew, Max; nieces, Jane, Shoshana, and Victoria; and his former wife, Allyson (nee Eastman). Interment at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin. Arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.

NISSIM. Mr. Albert Nissim died peacefully March 9, 2010, at home, with his beloved wife at his side. He was 87.

Born in Manhattan, Al was raised in the Bronx, graduating from Evander Childs High School. During World War II he was a U.S. Marine with the Third Amphibious Corps in the South Pacific Theatre of Operations. He developed a love of the sea and a keen interest in ships of all sizes, which endured for the remainder of his days. He traveled the world on business jaunts, trying his hand at many types of work before settling in New Jersey in 1953 and taking a position with Skylark Industries, Asbury Park, where he developed a liking for the direct mail business. He established Shore Typing Service and Shore Direct Mail, Neptune. An innovator in direct mail, he opened one of the first direct mail service bureaus, International Computer Sciences, in 1966. Ten years later, he became owner and president of Musical Heritage Society in Oakhurst, which remains the largest direct mail club for classical music in North America. He was respected by all who knew him in his business dealings, a shrewd, savvy, but always fair man. He was known for his sharp mind, quick wit, and kind heart. His outlook on life was positive and his success was assured at whatever he chose to do. Al had many other business interests, foremost among them were his automobile dealerships in Shrewsbury and Neptune. He was a lifelong supporter of the New York Yankees and had a deep fondness for Corgis, his canine pals.

Al is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Dorothy of West Allenhurst; sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Irwin Schwefel of Wanamassa; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Carol of Sea Isle, Fla., Donald and Deborah of Wayside, and Jeffrey and Anne of Millstone; grandchildren, Frank, Jennifer L., Jennifer A., Janel, Isaac, Rachael, and Alexandra; and great-grandson, Sam. OXMAN. Mr. Sanford Oxman died March 9, 2010. He was 85.

Born in Newark, Mr. Oxman lived in Iselin until his retirement. He then settled in Lakewood with his wife Ann. He worked for Reliance Equipment Co., Rahway, and interrupted his career to serve in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Upon his discharge, he rejoined Reliance and served as vice president. After Ann's passing, he moved to Whiting. An active and gregarious individual, he enjoyed tennis and poker. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ann, and his son, Lee.

Sanford is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Helen de Clercq of Baltimore, Md.; daughter and son-in-law, Jill and John Sweet of Jackson; five grandchildren; and one step-grandson. Interment at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin. Arrangements by Belkoff-Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Lakewood. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

SHOMER. Mrs. Ginette Kapelus Shomer died March 12, 2010 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was 80.

Born in Paris, Mrs. Shomer lived in Bayside, N.Y. for more than 32 years before moving to Marlboro 17 years ago. Before retiring in 1992 she was a dental receptionist for her husband's practice in Fresh Meadows, N.Y. She was a life member of Hadassah, and a volunteer leader in Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Boy Scouts.

Mrs. Shomer is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Irving; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Lori of Toms River; daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline and Laurence Chaise of Morganville; and six grandchildren. Arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan.

TAXMAN. Mrs. Marion E. Toby Taxman died March 9, 2010. She was predeceased by her husband, Phil S., and her grandchild, Paige.

Mrs. Taxman is survived by her children and their spouses, Paul and Judy, Brian and Sharon of North Brunswick, Philip and Lupe, and Starr; grandchildren, Rebecca, Jef, Alan, Todd, Bianca, Ilana, Logan, Justen, and Gia; and great-grandchildren, Louis and Sadie. She was our dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend. Interment at New Mt. Sinai Cemetery, St. Louis. Arrangements by Rindskopf Roth Funeral Home, St. Louis. YECALSIK. Dr. Sol Yecalsik died March 4, 2010, at the Gardens of Monroe. He was 91.

Born in Elizabeth, Dr. Yecalsik attended Jefferson High School and Union College of Cranford. He graduated from the Medical College of Virginia, School of Dentistry, in Richmond, Va., in 1943 with a doctor of dental surgery degree. After serving as a dental intern at the Jersey City Medical Center, he served for three years in the Navy as a dentist, attaining the rank of lieutenant senior grade. He served for 18 months aboard the U.S. Devosa in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. After the war, he practiced dentistry for 44 years in Elizabeth, retiring in 1988. He was a life member of the American Dental Society, the N.J. Dental Society, the Union County Dental Society, and Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity. He was a member of the Masada Lodge No. 051 F&AM of N.J., the N.J. Knights of Pythias No. 125, B'nai B'rith, Concordia Seniors, Workman's Circle, and the Jewish War Veterans Post No. 609.

Dr. Yecalsik is survived by his wife, May Berenson-Yecalsik; daughters, Joni Yecalsik, Gail Zikri, and Robin; son-in-law, Mark Shannon; and grandchildren, Jazmin, Rachel, and Daniel. Interment at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. Arrangements by Mount Sinai Funeral Home, East Brunswick.
