Rabbi David Saperstein, named by Newsweek Magazine as "America's most influential rabbi," will be scholar-in-residence. Saperstein, director of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, (RAC) has been described in a Washington Post profile as the "quintessential religious lobbyist on Capitol Hill." He represents the national Reform Jewish movement to Congress and the administration. Saturday, April 10 Temple Sha'arey Shalom. "Jewtopia." The creators and stars of the off-Bradway smash hit comedy Jewtopia are bringing their show to Summit for one night only. The off-Broadway sensation Jewtopia opened in New York on Sept. 28, 2004, following a 16-month sold-out run at West Hollywood's Coast Playhouse, where it still holds the record as Los Angeles' longest-running comedy. At the conclusion of its off-Broadway run, Jewtopia played 1,079 performances, making it the longest running off-Broadway comedy in New York history.
