Moral relativism

Your article, ''Clash between right and right'' (April 9) is an example of one of the greatest problems facing both America and Israel -- moral relativism. Oz, a self-described ''intellectual struggling for peace,'' is identified with the Israeli left as one of the leading figures in the Israeli ''Peace Now'' movement. He bemoans the attention given to ''ultra-religious fanatics'' and ''ruthless soldiers,'' but nowhere in the article is the word ''terrorist.'' Oz claims that that the ''clash'' between Israel and the ''Palestinians'' is not one of ''good guys and bad guys.''

How sweet. So the people who murder Jews and the people who support the murderers are good guys? While Oz doesn't state that, his refusal to even mention terrorism reveals his ''morality.'' Oz doesn't believe in ''taking military action against Iran''but fails to mention the threat from that ''religious fanatic.''Lastly, Oz claims the Arabs see the Israelis as ''an extension of white, oppressive Europe,''while Israelis see Arabs as Nazis who ''cut Jewish throats for fun.''What Oz is doing is ignoring the Arabs' hatred of Jews while dismissing the Israeli point of view. In point of fact, the Arabs do cut Jewish throats for fun, as history has noted many, many times.

The goal of the Arabs is (first) genocide of the Jews (others will come later). What is Oz's goal? What is accomplished by negating the historically accurate Israeli or Jewish perspective while promoting the illusion that the Arabs have been oppressed or have legitimate claims against Israel? Oz claims to be for compromise; he claims ''in my vocabulary the word 'compromise' is synonymous with life.''That sounds so nice. However, nowhere in the article does he mention any compromise on the part of the Arabs.

Oz, and those like him (Peace Now, the New Israel Fund, J Street, etc.), claim that their goal is ''two states existing side by side ... divided based on the 1967 armistice lines'' (Abba Eban, a notorious dove, called them ''Auschwitz lines'')...a ''symbolic'' number of Arab refugees allowed into Israel (while ''Palestine'' is Judenrein), and Jerusalem as the capital of two nations. Yet, when pressed as to whether this ''Final Solution for the Jewish people'' will bring peace, they offer no guarantees. Allow me to offer one: I ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEE that the Final Solution offered by the ''pro-Israel, pro-peace'' groups will increase the number of Jews who are murdered and maimed. If ''Palestine'' is allowed to come into existence and the right of Israel to defend itself continues to be negated (which is what the Goldstone Report actually says), I GUARANTEE that (unless God intervenes) the state of Israel will be destroyed and its Jewish population will be exterminated.

Contrary to what the ''intellectual struggling for peace'' claims, there is a right and wrong side, there are good guys and bad guys, and faithful Jews are not ''fanatics.''
